Papersky 36: Tokaido
The latest issue of Papersky (#36) has been released and features a look back at the legendary Tokaido Road in our contemporary setting. Editor in chief Lucas B.B. leads the way from Tokyo’s inner reaches (Nihonbashi and Shinagawa) into the depths of Western Japan like Hamamatsu, Goyu, Narumi, Kameyama, Sekibe and Kyoto. The trip wasn’t wholly completed on foot like the travelers of the ol’ days, we did it together with the kind road support of Mini Japan. Also in this issue is an interview with award-winning architect Ryue Nishizawa, our adventures with Haglofs, a translated literature supplement along with our regular columns including photographer Naoki Ishikawa’s second ascent of Mt. Everest as well as reports from the 5 Papersky Clubs.
