人も物もみな、神秘をたたえた、小さな妖精の国ーーー小泉八雲
日本人として生まれた子どもたち、日本で暮らす外国人の子どもたち、そして日本に興味のある世界の子どもたちに日本のこころを伝えたい。「ニッポンラーニング」では、日本人が大切にしてきた精神＝こころを、日本の伝統や文化を通じて子どもたちに受け継いでいくための科目です。

どんな人間も、赤い人も白い人もわけることはできない。私たちは結局、おなじひとつの兄弟なのだーーーシアトル酋長
この世界はたくさんの違いであふれています。人種の違い、文化の違い、価値観の違い…。たくさんの違いを知り、子どもたちが異文化への理解を深めることは、未来の平和につながります。「ワールドカルチャー」では、世界のさまざまな地域の文化や習慣を楽しく紹介していきます。
★CREATIVE ARTS 想像する そして創造する
まだ間に合ううちに、人は思考したり、空想したり、クリエイティヴでいる習慣を身につける必要があるーーーブルーノ・ムナーリ
子どもたちの柔らかい脳には、大人には想像できないようなアイデアがたくさんつまっています。「クリエイティブ・アート」は、そんな子どもたちの想像力を引き出し、自由に創造することの楽しさを伝える科目。アートやクラフト、音楽や料理といったコンテンツを提供します。

森に入ることは、この宇宙のすべてを知ることに通ずる———ジョン・ミューア
海や山など、自然を相手にするアウトドアでは、普段の生活とはまったく異なる感覚を養うことができます。頭とからだを働かせ、さまざまな体験をすることで、子どもたちは生きるための知恵を体得します。「アウトドア＆スポーツ」は、自分を知り、自然を知るためのアクティビティです。

この地球上には、まだ解明されていないたくさんの不思議が潜んでいます。身近な自然のなかにも不思議はいっぱい。不思議に出会い、たくさんの疑問を持つことは、子どもの探究心を育むきっかけとなります。「グリーンスタディ」では、自然科学や地球環境のことを楽しみながら学びます。
We have started this “Mammoth School,” project with the simple mission of creating a new standard of education in which the overall goal is to create kids who become adults who are knowledgeable about and inspired to take responsibility for the sustainability of the world. We want kids to have a holistic education, in which they learn not for the sake of passing tests, but in order to lead & create a healthy and happy world. Our method will be to follow these important principles:
★NIPPON LEARNING
Thinking locally and acting globally is only possible if one knows ‘the place’ one originated from. As we are based in Japan, it is vital for us to study Japanese traditions, culture and the Japanese heart.
★WORLD CULTURE
Until the world is at peace, we as individuals will not be at peace. Mammoth world culture is devoted to sharing and understanding the way other cultures do the same things in different ways.
★CREATIVE ARTS
Mammoth school seeks to teach a balance between the importance of both individuality and community. Art, music, cooking, writing and editing are all important creative means of expression of both the self and the communal.
★OUTDOOR & SPORTS
To play in nature and to constantly test our minds & bodies to the elements will truly teach us how to ‘survive’ and thus how to ‘live.’ Playing in nature gives us a strong healthy boost of life knowledge
★GREEN STUDY
Through nature, we learn about ourselves and how everything is connected. A strong knowledge of nature and it’s ability to sustain us as humans is the foundation for creating responsible and caring people.
